Oliver opened Inspire Physical Therapy in April of 2007 to create an environment for optimal patient care.
He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in physical therapy at the University of Vermont, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. After graduation, he went to work at a physical therapy clinic located at the renowned Green Mountain Valley School ski academy. Oliver worked with both the general population of Waitsfield and surrounding areas, as well as the student athletes at the academy. Working in this setting, Oliver treated a wide variety of injuries from chronic back pain to post surgical ACL rehabilitation. In December of 2005, Oliver’s interest in biomechanics and movement patterns led him to become one of the first twelve therapists in the country to be certified in Postural Restoration. He has presented to physicians, rehab specialists and ski coaches on this approach.
Oliver has an extensive background in alpine skiing which includes: attending ski academies in Switzerland and Norway, racing for the British National Ski Team (representing them at the 1996 World Championships) and racing for the University of Vermont Ski Team. After his racing career, he coached at the Green Mountain Valley School and provided injury care and rehabilitation for the student athletes. He has treated skiers of all ages and abilities from novices to national team athletes.
Oliver lives in Essex with his wife Jessica and daughters Anna and Sarah. He enjoys skiing, biking and most other sports.
Jessica came to Vermont from Connecticut to study Athletic Training at the University of Vermont. After graduation, she earned a Master of Education from the University of Virginia, where she was taught by many of the leaders in the field of Sports Medicine. She returned to Vermont in 2001 and went to work for the Sports and Orthopedic Rehabilitation Center. After leaving SORC, Jessica went to work at the University of Vermont for the Athletic Medicine Department. Jessica has experience working with both high school and various division one collegiate teams. She is trained in Postural Restoration. Over the last few years, she has taken time to be at home with our daughters. Jessica is an avid road biker and skier. She lives in Essex with her husband Oliver and daughters Anna and Sarah.
